Best & Worst Times to Visit Australia

Best & Worst Times to Visit Australia

There are some times of the year are better than others when visiting Australia. During certain times of  the year,  there are less crowds, cheaper tickets, and the weather might be better depending on where and when you visit.

Different times of year will highlight different parts of the country and its climate in different ways. The Northern half of the country is pleasant and dry during April thru September. It runs humid during October to March with more rain, but there is a lot of wildlife to see during this time and wetlands and rainforests are beautiful to see.

Seasons for flight prices

Pricing for flights to Australia depend on the dates you travel.  A guideline for the seasons is:

Basic or cheap season runs from May – June and July – September.

Shoulder season (the time between peak and off-peak seasons) runs February – April, June – July an September – November.

Peak (Expensive) Season runs December – January.

Ask your travel team agent for more information in planning your trip by calling 1-800-788-0829 today!

High and Low Seasons

Visiting Australia during the high season can be good and bad depending on where you want to visit and what you want to do. The high season for tourists runs from April to September.  The weather is fairly mild in most areas of the country. This season also means there are crowds and popular sites and the prices are higher, so if you plan to visit during this time, book far in advance.

The low season is October to March. It is less crowded, but much of the country especially Western Australia and the Red Center is hot. Cairns and Darwin are also places that can feel even hotter thanks to the humidity.

Summer is December to February. Visiting Sydney and Melbourne are great choices during the summer, there are festivals, the people are relaxed and you will find so many things to do. Keep in mind the summer is also peak season for places such as Brisbane and the Gold Coast; there might be crowds, so if you want to avoid this, visit in February when the crowds thin out and the prices drop.

Ask your travel team agent for more information in planning your trip by calling 1-800-788-0829 today!

Jellyfish Season

Planning on swimming off the coast of Australia? You don’t want to do this during Jellyfish season. This can differ throughout the country. Jellyfish season typically lasts from October to April in northern Australia and November to March in the north of Western Australia and Queensland.

The Best Time to Travel to Australia

Anytime is a great time because you are visiting Australia! But, you want to factor in what cities you are visiting and what types of things you want to do. Typically Spring which is September – November or Fall (March – May) is when it won’t be too hot or too cold and you avoid the crowds that come with peak season. Always ask a travel team agent for tips and for help planning by calling 1-800-788-0829!

Escorted vs Independent Vacations — Which Should You Choose?

Escorted vs Independent Vacations– Which Should You Choose?

laptop planning travel tips computer man thinking travel

When you’re planning to travel to a foreign destination, one of the first things you may decide is if you will go on an escorted trip, or an independent one. An escorted trip is when you travel with a group of people, including a tour guide. You travel, eat, stay, explore and shop with this group of people. With an Independent Travel vacation, you chose you itinerary and navigate your own way around. Both types of vacations are very different, so it helps to look at each type of vacation before you decide what type to choose.

Check out our most popular vacations that include both Australia & New Zealand!

Escorted Tours

Paris & Rome Vacations w/Air rome colesseum gate 1

If you are the type of traveler  who enjoys being social, escorted travel is a great option. New friends and relationships are easy to gain through escorted tours. You are also provided a tour guided with escorted travel groups, a great benefit for as you can get more questions answered and about history of certain sites, compared to viewing these sites alone. The tour guide can help you with communication if you are in a country that speaks a different language. Also, the planning of transportation, navigation, food and entertainment has already been taken care of.

Call a Travel Team Agent today at 1-800-788-0829 for more information.

Most of the time, meals, site admissions, transportation and lodging are included in the price. Keep in mind, if you like to be on your own schedule, wake up late, stay in bed etc, you may not want to follow the same schedule as everyone else.

Independent tours

laptop-planning-travel-tips-computer-cellphone

Escorted tours usually hit the most popular and well-known sites of the cities. You might not get to see the smaller, lesser known sites. As an independent traveler, you are able to choose sites to visit that interest you. You can even have your travel team agent add other attractions to your itinerary.

Keep in mind you are responsible for navigating and getting around. The cost of transportation may not be included in the Independent Travel package. Make sure to ask a travel team agent the costs of transportation, meals, and admission fees by calling 1-800-788-0829. This can also be a deciding factor. You will have more freedom however than an escorted vacation.

Independent Travel vacations require more planning than an escorted tour. They call for a reliable and experienced travel agent to work out the details. Travel Team Agents are amazing at booking an Independent Travel vacation.

Deciding what type of vacation would suit your travel needs depends on your personality and what is important to you in your vacation. If you find it more important to socialize and travel with a group while seeing major sites, an Escorted Tour may be the best choice for you.

If it’s more important to you to be independent, have a flexible itinerary and explore on your own, an Independent Travel vacation may be what you want.  Call a Travel Team Agent today at 1-800-788-0829 for more information.
