The Ghan Train Journey takes travelers from Adelaide to Alice Springs in 24 hours in comfort, and Adelaide to Darwin in just 52 hours. This is a world class train trip offering gourmet meals, comfortable accommodations and more as you travel thru some of the most beautiful scenery in Australia! Travel thru the Outback and experience a rich and rewarding journey.

When you depart from Adelaide you will travel thru the “Wheat Belt”, on to port Pirie on a scenic journey that continues to Port Augusta. Travel onwards North from Tarcoola and you pass thru the Macdonnel Ranges and Alice Springs. You will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and travel thru dry, rocky land as you enter the heart of the Outback.

The Train stops for 4 hours after traveling thru Tennant Creek, a goldmining settlement and then stops in Katherine. You can choose to take optional tours during this time such as a boat cruise or helicopter tour at the Katherine Gorge. As you leave Katherine you pass thru lush green tropical scenery as you cross the Adelaide River. Your journey ends in Darwin.
