How is the Climate & Weather in New Zealand?
Since New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed to the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere. Spring is September – November; Summer is December – February; Fall is March – May and Winter is June – August.

What Documents do I need to enter New Zealand
Any visitor that is traveling to New Zealand must have a passport valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave the country. If you are staying in New Zealand less than 3 months, you do not need a visa. You also need to bring a return ticket to the country you are returning to, and also enough money during your stay (about $1000 NZD per month per person).

Customs Procedures in New Zealand?
When you enter New Zealand, remember there are laws that prohibit entering the country with any drugs, firearms, weapons and certain protected wildlife. Make sure to declare anything to Customs when you arrive in New Zealand in case you are not sure about any of your items.
What should I pack?
You want to make sure to take the following items: Passport & Visa paperwork (if applicable), Photo ID, travel insurance, credit card, copies of your itinerary, ID and passport. Don’t forget sunglasses, sunscreen, light weight jacket, camera, sandals, dress shoes, long sleeve and short sleeve shirts.

What is the Departure tax?
You will need to pay a departure tax at the airport when you leave New Zealand. The departure tax fee is $25 NZD and not included in your air ticket price.
What language is spoken in New Zealand
English is spoken throughout New Zealand. You also may hear other languages such as Maori which is the official language in New Zealand. You will hear the phrase ‘Kia Ora’ which means hello in Maori.

What is the currency in New Zealand?
New Zealand uses New Zealand dollars. Coins are in values of 5, 10, 20, 50 cents. There isn’t a limit on money taken in or out but if it is more than $10,000 NZD you have to fill out a Border Cash Report.
What is the time difference between the US and New Zealand?
New Zealand is one of the first places in the world to see the new day, 17 hours ahead of EST or 20 hours ahead of PST. In summer New Zealand uses ‘daylight saving’, with clocks put forward one hour. Daylight saving begins on the first Sunday in October and ends on the third Sunday of the following March, when clocks are put back.
What are the Taxes in New Zealand?
All goods and services will have a 15% Goods and Services Tax (GST) included in the displayed price. Also, if a supplier ships a major purchase to a visitor’s home address the GST will not be charged.

Do I need to tip in New Zealand?
Tipping is not expected in New Zealand in restaurants and bars. But if you received extra special service, you can feel free to tip. There are no service charges added to Hotels and restaurant bills.
How do I drive I New Zealand?
Drive on the left side of the road. The steering wheel is on the right side of the car. You must wear a seat belt at all times.
