For a fully national coach service, go with National Coach. They offer cheap bus tickets to most towns and cities in New Zealand. This makes the bus network the most extensive public transportation method in New Zealand. If you plan on using them a lot, you can get bus passes which will save you some money.
Bus Tours
Want a stress-free way to see New Zealand? Bus tours are typically all-inclusive with most meals and accommodations. Activities are included sometimes as well.

Hop-on Hop-off buses are following a set route but you can get off in most places and get on another bus at a later time. You are in charge of getting your own food, but this transportation method is flexible.
Train
The train isn’t the most popular way to travel as the network is fairly small. Train journeys are really scenic and a fun way to explore and travel between Christchurch and Greymouth in the South Island or Auckland and Wellington in the North Island.
Plane
