G’Day, welcome to Australia! On arrival, the rest of your day is at leisure to do as much (or as little) as you please. Cultured and cosmopolitan, Melbourne is an architectural gem, lined with gracious buildings built from the profits of the 1850s Goldrush. The wonderfully preserved Victorian architecture gives the city a special charm, reminiscent of the great cities of Europe. Food is a top priority here, with exceptional restaurants and whole areas dedicated to gourmet pursuits. Melbournians are sports fanatics too, cheering on Aussie Rules Football and the Melbourne Cup horserace, while premier festival and cultural offerings all help to make it the events capital of Australia. Day 4, 5 & 6 – Melbourne at your Leisure
See more of Melbourne in your own time. The city circle tram is a great way to navigate the city and is free! Wander the tiny laneways to discover boutique stores and cute local cafes offering delicious coffee. Overnight: Melbourne
Day 7 – Melbourne to Cairns
Today you will fly from Melbourne north to tropical Cairns. This is the gateway to the Far North and the Great Barrier Reef. The city is surrounded by lush sub-tropical rainforests, and to the north and south are miles of white sandy beaches and turquoise oceans. Overnight: Cairns
Days 8, 9 & 10 – Cairns at your Leisure
Discover Cairns and the surrounding area at your leisure. We highly recommend adding a full-day cruise to the magnificent Great Barrier Reef (additional expense) or perhaps a day visiting Kuranda and the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and our team can arrange this for you (additional cost). The city center also has many great places to shop for souvenirs or wander the waterfront. Overnight: Cairns
Day 11 – Cairns to Sydney
Today you will fly south to Sydney. Arrive and spend the remainder of your day at leisure in Sydney. This city sits on one of the most beautiful harbors in the world.
