Discover Perth and Ningaloo Reef
Explore Australia’s sunniest capital city and the world’s largest fringing coral reef on this adventure in Western Australia. Start in Perth to explore the sunny environment and tour the nearby highlights. Then connect to Exmouth to snorkel through the waters of the Ningaloo Reef.
This 8-day Australian vacation takes you from Perth to Exmouth to explore the Ningaloo Reef. It features economy, moderate, or first-class accommodations depending on your preference, shared tours, and is ideal for adventurous travellers.
Your journey begins in Perth, Western Australia’s capital and the most remote capital on the planet. Get to know this sunny city on the west coast with a city tour of its highlights and nearby Fremantle. Venture through King Park Botanical Gardens, stroll along the forest canopies of the Tree Top Walk, and feel the sand beneath your feet at Cottesloe Beach before cruising along the Swan River to see Perth’s swankest suburbs. The next day, swing by the lobster fishing town of Cervantes and learn about Australia’s lobster industry before venturing into the Pinnacles Desert to gaze upon the rocky limestone formations that transform the desert into an alien landscape. Cap off the day with a sandboarding adventure. On your final day in Perth, explore the tranquility of Rottnest Island with a 90-minute tour, seeing Wadjemup Lighthouse and strolling along the boardwalk of the rugged West End.
From Perth, fly north to Learmonth and connect to Exmouth, the resort town on Western Australia’s shoreline and the gateway to the Ningaloo Reef. The Ningaloo Reef is the world’s largest fringing coral reef and Australia’s second-largest reef. Spend a full day snorkelling through the west side of the reef or around the Muiron Islands to see the underwater world of dolphins, dugongs, manta rays, turtles, and bright coral. If you happen to visit between March and August, you can even take part in a whale shark adventure, seeing these gentle giants migrating through the waters. After your snorkel adventure, you’ll have a full day at leisure in Exmouth to take advantage of the resort town, explore the coastal tidal pools, and relax on the beach.
At the end of your stay, connect back to Perth for your onward travels.
