Offering dozens of sandy islands in the sheltered blue waters, Moreton Bay is a favorite getaway for Brisbane locals and visitors alike. Here you can feed the wild dolphins or make the rewarding hike up to the summit of Mount Tempest. Kangaroo Point Cliffs is a popular venue for urban rock climbers andthey are conveniently close to the city and the South Bank Parklands. Held at the South Bank Parklands every Sunday. Brunswick Street Mall. Located in the heart of China Town, there are many Chinese retailers, fast food restaurants, cafes and bars. Markets are run on Sundays. Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. Large shopping centre sprawled over three massive levels. Large variety of retailers. Westfield Garden City. Large shopping centre with two levels. Contains a large variety of fashion retailers and book stores Valley Markets - A shopping must for locals and tourists. Operating every weekend, find jewelery, fabulous handmade accessories and artwork. Home to emerging fashion designers. (Sat & Sun, 8am - 4pm) Dining: Brisbane and it's suburbs have a very good assortment and variety of restaurants. Some of the best dining districts are Brisbane City, Spring Hill, Fortitude Valley & New Farm, Southbank and Woolloongabba. Weather: Brisbane has what is considered to be an excellent subtropical climate, with winters that are warm and generally dry and sunny and summer days are warm to hot. Humidity is high during the summer months and temperatures can get as high as 40C with night temps rarely dropping below 20C. Summer storms with hail and heavy rainfall are common in afternoons on hot humid days. They usually pass quickly and sometimes put on a good lightning show.
